The University of Scranton

Brand Identity & Logo Design

The University of Scranton is a Catholic and Jesuit institution that delivers a transformative liberal arts education. To support its mission and growth, The University relies on an in-house staff of writers and designers to tell its story compellingly.

In the summer of 2023, we were engaged as consultants to dive in and support this work in a significant way. Drawing from our deep experience in higher education and understanding the delicate balance between adhering to brand standards and developing fresh and visually appealing materials, we jumped right in.

Through this engagement, we handled projects ranging from billboard designs and prospective student-facing admissions materials to creating a custom logomark representing the University’s commitment to Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ initiative focused on respecting and protecting Mother Earth, our common home.

Notably — aside from one two-page interior spread that had already been designed before we received the project — we handled all graphic design elements for the Fall 2023 issue of the Scranton Journal, a robust 56-page publication highlighting University happenings, staff, students, and alums.

We continued to provide extensive design services until late 2023 when all design work was able to be managed in-house.

“Having worked with Bob in the past, I knew he would be a perfect fit when we needed to support our graphic design services. It was a seamless transition in working with an outside designer who knew and understood us and our style. Bob’s exceptional talent and creativity are matched by an ability to get the job done on (or ahead of) schedule. Plus he’s such a pleasure to work with!”
